Xerox
introduces new options for DocuShare 6.5.3
DocuShare eForms
This is available as an add-on to DocuShare CPX
and is based on the Cardiff Liquid Office product.
You can create your own forms or modify the examples
provided to gather the information you need to start
a workflow process to accomplish much of what you do
today without ever generating paper, but still have a
PDF of the final document stored in DocuShare.
This can be used for purchase requisitions, personnel
forms, job applications, work orders, and much more.
Look for racks of forms in your place of business and
evaluate whether they are candidates for DocuShare
eForms. Xerox has priced this very

DocuShare Virtual
Filing System
This is a new option that
modifies the homepage to present users with search
parameters based on the document object type you'd
like to find. You can select which type of
document you want to search for, display the search
parameters, issue your search, and see your hits in a
customized results page. Otherwise, DocuShare

DocuShare Windows Client to support Windows
64 bit PCs
Xerox is currently working on a new release of the
DocuShare Windows Client to support Windows 7 and
Vista in 32 and 64 bit operating systems. The
new release will also fully support the new 6 level
permissions model available in DocuShare 6.5.
It's unclear when this will be released, but we
anticipate you should see this by August.
CIMonitor
We're about to release CIMonitor, a monitoring tool to watch
for errors in DocuShare's Content Intake Module, so
that email alerts can be sent to one or more persons
when an error occurs and provides a link to the log
file with the explanation of the problem. This
will help to ensure documents don't go missing and
reduces the tedious process of watching for output in
the errors folder and digging around for the
associated log file. If you would like to add

DocuShare Archive Server
If you're thinking of upgrading your DocuShare
server soon, give some thought to adding an archive
server to your configuration. By offloading
older and non-critical content to an archive server,
you make the upgrade process easier and faster.
Reindexing your content after an upgrade can take
days if you have several hundred thousand or more MS
Office documents, searchable PDFs, and other
searchable formats in addition to image only PDFs,
TIFFs, and the like. You'll want your main
DocuShare server fully indexed and operational ASAP
and that can be accelerated when you have an archive
server with the bulk of your content reindexing in
